Reflecting On Four Years

Last week, I celebrated four years of running Mallory Shelter Jewelry. Some days, it feels like i've been doing this forever, Other days, it seems like four years have gone by in a blink. It's certainly been a journey with lots of ups and downs, but it's a journey that I am grateful for every day.

I often get asked by entrepreuners who are in the early stages of their business how i've grown my brand to where it is today. Many of them expect, just like I did, to see immediate success. In the age of social media, I think it is easy to present a perfectly polished look of a business, without showing any of the late nights, mistakes made, and endless trial and error that come with it. While I try to be transparent about my work, even I get caught up in the need to show only one side. So when I look back on the photos from my early days, it's a nice reminder that things were far from perfect, but that has allowed me to learn and evolve along the way. I try to advise anyone getting started on a small business or a side project to simply...start. If I had waited until my brand was polished, my products were perfect, or my customers were loyal, I would still be waiting.

I have some big things in store for the rest of this year, and I can't wait to share them with you. But for now, I wanted to thank you for sticking with me through this journey. Some of you have been with me since the very beginning, and others have recently discovered my work. Regardless of who you are, I sincerely appreciate your support over the past four years.
